I have been watching that story on the news and net.  It's not a protein
they altered, it's the genes.  They took a gene from a glowing sea
anemone and spliced it into the zebra fish.  They've also created mice
that glow in the dark by similar means.  What next?  Glowing ferrets?
If they could just get them to "meow", people in CA could pass them off
as real short cats!  (Ever seen a cat called a "munchkin"?)
