Hi,

I'm hopping mad! Maybe someone out there can help.

I was wathching Animal Planet, the "All Animals, All the Time" channel just
a little while ago and saw a report about some woman named Pat (didn't get
her last name) who runs PAWS, a rescue in southern California (I think it
was the southern part of the state). PAWS takes in animals of all sorts,
including lions, tigers, bears, bobcats, ferrets, etc. Pat started talking
about how many people buy wild animals from disreputable breeders because as
babies, almost all animals are "oh, so cute". She went on to say that WILD
animals, such as tigers, bobcats, and FERRETS should not be purchased
because they have been known to attack their owners and owning WILD animals
for the sake of owning them isn't fair.

I think you see where this is going, but I have NO problem with her advise
against owning wild animals. But, classifying ferrets as wild?! Give me a
break! Here is yet ANOTHER example of BAD information.

I did a short web search, but didn't find anything. Through Netscape, I
tried www.paws.org, but got some organization in Washington state. I'm not
sure if it's the same rescue.

Does anyone out there know who and/or what organization I'm talking about?
If so, I will gladly give them a call, or send them a letter/email.

Argh!
