Debbie,
I trained my girl to come when I call her by making sure she was insight
and I would call her name a few times, then produce a treat for her to see
and keep calling her name, then when she came to me I would give her the
treat. It seems to work pretty well, and she even seems to know all of
her nicknames (which are quite a few!). But she is very stubborn and
independent so she often chooses not to come when I call her. And she
loves to drive me crazy when I call her and she will come out and look at
me then head the other direction! Needless to say she is spoiled rotten :)

Also I know I just posted asking people if they knew anything about Hill's
n/d. Well, last night I was examining all the nutritional information and
comparing it to the Eukanuba Maximum Calorie diet I have been feeding her.
It seemed that the Eukanuba was better since it had a lower carbohydrate
percentage, but high fat and protein percentage. The Hill's did have more
n-3 fatty acid, which helps boost the immune system and I think helps
suppress the cancer, but I think the large difference in the other things
will make me stick to the Eukanuba. Does anyone have any knowledge or
thoughts on this? And does anyone know of any other dietary guildlines for
cancer/chemotherapy patients? If so could you email me (or at least copy
the message, because I think other parents of kids with cancer might want
this info posted here) at [log in to unmask], because I will be going on
vacation soon and I won't be able to check my regular mail.

Another question; I am going to visit family for the holiday, and I will be
around Mobile, AL then Gulf Shores/Perdido (AL/FL). I know this is a long
shot but does anyone know of a good vet, knowledgeable about ferrets in
those areas? I normally wouldn't worry about it just for a vacation, but
since my girl has been fighting this cancer and has already had one problem
with her feeding tube, I wanted to have at least a name of someone I might
could call incase anything happens to her while we are up there. Thanks :)

I one last question for everyone, does this mailing list only come in a
digest form or can you receive the individual emails?
[Only digest. BIG]

Thanks.
Jenna
