We have used a product called "Flea Stoppers" carpet powder for 3 years with
great success.  We put it down once a year.  We paid $30 for a can and covers
1,500 SQ feet. The active ingredient is Orthoboric Acid...100%.  We are flea
free and our ferrets are fine with it.  There is an 800 #, if you want it
