How to bring your male into a raging rut?  Oh, Wolfy, that's easy.  It's
getting them OUT of the rut that requires finesse.
 
I recommend agreeing to go to a hockey game with your male.  While he is
watching strange men bleed on the ice,(this impresses him very much) pull
out a paperback book and start reading.
 
He will not be impressed.
 
You will still get to keep everything in the world, and you will have
ample time to examine it all and revel in it alone, when he goes to
another hockey game.  ALONE.
