I do not understand what the big deal is. I am sure we all agree that each
animal is unique and with this I don't understand why we must conclude that
if one ferret reacts to a crying baby then they all are bloodthirsty killers.

I once knew a lady with a dog that didn't like men who wore ball caps
(previous owner abused with hat) but that does not mean one should never own
a dog if they where hats! So this one ferret reacts badly to a babies cry,
solution that ferret should not be in a home with infants. I personally
have three ferrets and we just brought home a beautiful Baby boy (human)
last night as I sat there holding him as he squalled I looked over to see
what the ferrets were doing. they didn't even seem to notice. Now that
doesn't mean I am going to leave the ferrets in the play pen with him, I do
have common sense (they'd be outta there in no time!) but as with all
animals they will react differently as they are individuals. Making blanket
statments is absurd. It would be like saying all humans are child abusers
just because a few do. Some ferrets I have been told have killed other
household pets, when I first got mine I introduced them to our hamster, and
they just ignored him (he on the other hand went into attack mode)

Basically you need to use common sense, keep a close watch for problems, and
deal with the problems, but don't deal with problems that are not there.
Please do not view sweet fuzzies as attackers unless they show themselves to
be.

problem with all these fuzzy things running around)
