The neurologist came back with an initial diagnosis of a vertebral
protrusion in his spine on two vertebrae. They are looking over the CT
scans again but say they can not operate as it very likely would not
get him to regain use of his legs. He has some movement but mostly pain
response and I don't see how aleviating the pressure would not allow
for regaining of motor function. It's been less than 3 weeks since
the lameness was severe. In people, they do conservative treatment of
anti-inflam meds and if that doesn't work, they move onto surgury. I
can understand given the size of the spine of a ferret but is spinal
damage caused by protrusion permanent?

His blood glucose tends to remain steady at around 70 which is
borderline and he was on insulinoma meds for 4 months but his level
never wavered even when on or off and whether fasting or not, it kept
reading around 70 so they took him off and he never once before or
after ever had an episode.

Thanks to all who helped or can help.
