I won't bother with lengthy quotes. I just want to agree 100% with Bill
Killian on his additional reasons for holding ferret shows. They can be
fun for everyone, including the ferrets, if planned properly. They are
definitely educational- for everyone attending. This year we had nearly
400 paid admissions. That's non-members who may or may not be owned by
ferrets. They're fairly profitable too. To the vendors and to the hosting
organization. Well-run shows pay for themselves. Any thing left over is
gravy. Our profits were put directly to use to pay shelter expenses and to
further our educational outreach programs. We took great care to see that
the ferrets attending our show were treated humanely, were housed
comfortably and protected from communicable diseases.
