As usual, early morning finds Mully snoozing away in his hammy. The
booming sound of Nanna's voice jolts him out of a sound sleep and he
lands on the floor with a thud. "Dat Nanna, one of deese days"......

Nanna had managed to record her voice calling Muldoone's name and had
one of the techie ferrets to install it in his alarm clock. Staggering
off to the "making himself presentable" corner, Mully reemerges wearing
his favorite ball cap, hair sticking out in every direction from under
cap, not bothering to stop to take a look in the mirror, it was always
the same, hammy-head-hair that refused to be tamed.

Arriving at the Bridge Mully takes his place awaiting the new arrival.
Glancing across the meadow, he sees a couple of his buddies Flash and
Scooter carrying what looked like fishing poles, heading in the direction
of their favorite spot. Muldoone enjoyed being with his buddies but he
took his Bridge work very serious. He was still puzzled as to why the
Boss picked him for such a position but Nanna had taught him not to
question the creator of the heavens and the universe.

All of a sudden the wind began to pick up, a soft warm breeze gently blew
across his face, caressed the soft backside of his ears, and danced in
his whiskers. As the breeze calmed, Mully heard the distinct sound of
ferret feets coming across the Bridge. Muldoone looked up and he saw a
little girl ferret heading his way. She seemed very determined in her
walk and the set of her jaw. Stepping forward to greet her, "Hewow, I
be Mr. Muldoone, da officialist Wainbow Bwidge Gweeter."

The little girl stopped and sat down, she seemed to be studying his face
intently and then she broke out in giggles. Mully glanced around a bit
uneasy and was wondering what she found so funny upon her arrival. When
the little girl ferret was able to regain her composure she moved closer
for a better look.

"Hey buddy, she began, did da hooman-beans eber tells ya what a bwush
be used for?

Muldoone felt himself beginning to turn red, da hair, ebberyone gots to
make funs of my hair, I askis da Boss to fixes my fur but I still gots
hammy-head-hair. Uh sure kid I knows whats a bwush be used for Mully
explained once he found his voice 'cept it not seems to help wif my
hair."

The little girl ferret seemed to be busy checking herself all over.
"Cans you beweive all dis new fur I gots" she said to Muldoone, eyes
big and round and excitement in her voice.

Mully wasn't quite what to think about this new arrival. Sure she
appeared to be a pretty savvy little ferret but there seemed to be a bit
more to her than that.

"Uh yeah, we all gets what we 'pose to have when we gets here, furs,
weggs dat walks for us, eyes dat sees, dat be our gift from da Creator"
Mully explained to her.

"Tells me 'bout yurself Hotspur Mully says to the little girl, what kinds
ob tings you wike to dooes?

Well begins Hotspur, I wikes to beats up da boy fewets and sometimes da
gurl fewets too.

Dat might not be a gud ting to do here Mully tells her.

Cans I sneakies up on em and bite deir toes Hot spur asks.

Nope, dat kind of ting not be awwoed here eider.

Well what kinds of stuf cans I do here Hotspur asks Muldoone.

Deir be wots of tings to do here Mully tells her, wet me shows you and
shows you 'wound da Bwidge. We have da tube waces, and den we can go
bisits dirt m'tins, and da sock finds, we gots the 'Tone stweams and
wotts of tings."

As the two ferrets are heading down the path Hotspur puts a paw on
Mully's arm to stop him; Mulligan cans I wears your hat she asks to
which Mully replies, "kid da name is Mr. Muldoone and no you can't wears
my hat, no odder fewet wears my hat but me.

As the two are heading down the path, Mully could be overheard telling
the new arrival all the neat things to do at the Bridge. "Oh yeah he
says, I habe a messuge from your mom, she say tells you dat hers and yur
dad woves you vurry much."
