Support Our Shelters needs your help.  We are involved in paying vet
expenses for three different rescue situations in three different states
for ferrets that have ended up in 5 different shelters.
 
Five shelters have taken in ferrets from three other shelters that just
plain burned out after years and years of sheltering.  Their emotional
and financial resources were stretched beyond bearing.  Tragically for
the ferrets, vet care seems to have been lacking for quite some time.
Some ferrets have died, some needed emergency care, and some still need
necessary care.  It is too late and pointless to name names and make
judgement calls.  I could cry for the people as well as the ferrets.
Sheltering is heartbreaking work.
 
I'm not sure of the extent of all these vet bills.  $6,000 total?  Much
more?  It is a LOT of vet care that is needed here.  We aren't trying
to pay all of it, but we do want to help as much as possible.
 
Thanks to your ongoing, faithful support through Buck a Month, the
Calendar, the Raffles, the Card Exchanges, the Memorial Page, and our
new TPO Club and Lifesaver Charms, we have been able to help with the
immediate emergencies already.

will know you intend it for these rescues.
