To Diane in regards to your post about the enlarged kidney. It could be
an enlarged prostate. That's what my Rowdy (5 yrs) had and Dr. Greg Moore
(super ferret vet here in Texas) did surgery so that he has an open
incision to the bladder so he can go to the bathroom (actually dribble).
It was because of his adrenal tumors ( had both removed). He still strains
to go to the bathroom (not as bad as before) and goes from box/place to
place due to infection and probably a lot of discomfort! His poops are
small and leaves little puddles. He does still have quality of life, the
alternative was to send him to the bridge and we weren't ready for that
decision yet.

To Jen about getting ECE again. It's my understanding (and we're going
through it right now with the new commers), that there are different
strains and can be contracted again, but it's not anything like the first
time around - thank goodness! We just have bad poops now and then. They
all act normal (whatever that means :o). I'll be glad when everyone gets
over it AND GETS ALONG, but that's another story... I hope to post good
news about that one of these days soon!

Hope that helps!
Hugs to all!
