        My ferrets also get very dry paws (especially in winter).  Fezzik's
paws have sometimes gotten so dry they'll crack and scab over...  A vet once
told me to put some lotion on it -- problem is, my ferrets LOVE the taste of
hand lotion, and lick it right off (making their skin dryer in the long run!)
I've been trying baby oil -- that seems to be better (at least, I haven't
caught them licking it off!).   I was told to try using an antiobiotic with a
petroleum jelly base if the baby oil was a problem.  I still don't have a good
idea how often I need to put it on their paws, though...
