Yee-ouch! Talk about flames, my fingers really got burned. So, here I
go, fork and knife in hand, off to catch my dinner in the woods behind
the house. If my babies should eat thier meat live, then so should I
right? Here Bambi, here Thumper.

Let's be realistic people. Ferrets have been domesticated for
generations. There is no more need for them to hunt and kill live food
than there is for your dog or cat. Yes, I do eat meat, but I buy it
from the store already dead and neatly packed. I do not go chasing
around the woods or into the neighbors pasture to get my dinner. My
ferrets shouldn't have to either. I still insist that there are plenty
of good meat substitues available. I do not mean non-meat items. I mean
pre-killed, processed and packaged that we serve up to our friends just
like dog or cat food. And I know that dogs and cats kill rabbits too,
but they seem to do it for the "fun"? of it. Besides, mice are full of
germs and nasty stuff. Why would I expose my babies to that? Not to
mention, again, the poor little mice. I had mice as pets when I was a
young girl, they make great pets. Not as cool as ferrets of course, but
very fun just the same. (Consider the expresion on my bosses face when
I showed up halfway through my shift delivering pizzas with Moose poking
his head out of my shirt pocket. He had been with me the whole night,
but the boss hadn't noticed. Hilarious)

Kiss your fuzzies every day. If you don't know why they deserve it,
they do.

Shelley
