I for one want to know, why is everyone so quick to throw stones when
answers are not given? I get disgusted over things also and am quick to
jump sometimes. I try and think about things for a bit before I answer
certain topics. I try to choose my words as so not to hurt people.

I wish to thank Kris Mewton for his time on the Giving Tree this
year. Kris and his family give up a lot and this year as been extra
difficult. Please show a bit of compassion, not everything runs
smoothly all the time. Walk in someone else's shoes, see if they fit
the same as your own. I email Kris only if I have to, I hate bothering
him and apologize when I do. I know that answering my email takes away
from time that could be spent on the Tree or with his family.

I lost my Christmas Spirit a few years ago. Have only kept it together
because of my fuzzies and the ferret community that I have met this
past three years. Kris's Giving Tree is part of this that keeps me
going. Our lives are so wrapped up in day to day go, go go, we lose
something along the way. I for one do not want to be this person. I
love Christmas or am trying to love it again, it's magical and people
are kind, generous and our goodness thrives at Christmas, it should be
this way all the time.

Things we wouldn't normally do and do anyway;
like take an extra five minutes to read a story that really doesn't
interest you
take a minute and say I am sorry for your loss
say thanks to someone for something they did for you
send a donation to someone who is having a rough time, knowing you
really can't afford to do it
Just these few things I have written, will make a difference not only
to you but others as well.

Kris is thinking of quitting the Giving Tree. How does this make you
feel? I am saddened by this. I have no clue what it takes to do the
Giving Tree, nor would I want to do it. Not because I am not capable,
but because of TIME. This is the key word, time. Ask yourselves and be
honest, would you have time for the Giving Tree, would you take it on
if Kris stops? Now ask yourself if he is giving his all to us and the
fuzzies. I think so, and I want to thank him for taking his time for
doing it. I want to thank his family for letting him take time from
them in doing the Giving Tree.

To the Ferret community, think of Kris and his family and please be
patient, show a bit of compassion for him. The Giving Tree is not a
paying job, this comes from the heart, his heart, his compassion is
still here, is yours?

The Giving Tree when I first heard about it I was so excited, thought
it was the most awesome thing I had ever seen. I had no idea how to
submit my kids photos and nothing was working right. Kris was great,
he helped and talked me through everything. Didn't get it quite right
first time around, and knew I would get it together for the next year.
I can not believe all the wonderful items people have sent. All the
Secret Santas are as excited about giving as we are in receiving. Kris
is the one who makes this all possible, his time, his effort.

I hope you don't give up on us Kris, but if you do stop, I will not be
upset with you. You have to do what is in your heart and if it is time
to stop, then so be it. I for one will miss the Giving Tree and you.

Wishing the Mewton family, hooman and skin, a very Merry Christmas and
bright and better New Year.

Thank you for the Giving Tree
