I have to share:
I had a ferret that was allowed free roam of my bedroom, and supervised
play in the rest of the apartment.

When I moved, my husband (then boyfriend) was taking out the sofa bed and
then my boxspring. Well, I couldn't believe all the stuff that came out of
those items. Cassette tape, toothpaste (with little bite marks all over
it), pens, old christmas ball, tape, to name a few. I never missed one of
those items!! So, I guess there are a lot of things that we have lost, but
never realized it. I still miss that little girl, she was so much fun.

For the person that couldn't figure out how to keep her ferret in the cage-
have you used clips? There are different knds. Clip them on the doors,
some doors need two clips, top and bottom. I found the local automobile
parts store by me sells small battery clips that work well and can be used
to hold litter boxes in place. Also, I have seen ones that were meant to
be paper holders being used, not sure of the name. I am sure other FMLers
will come to the rescue with good ideas.
