G'Day All

Thank you Mia for looking after my beloved boys. I have had the loss 2 of
my babies - Gonk and Ginger. Surprising they are the ones I expected to
last forever. The last surviving is Peuter. He is my first fuzzy and my
cuddle monster. Ginger came as an addition for Peuter and Gonk was Mia's
doing. She adobted Spirit - her first ferret - from a pet store and Gonk
was his brother and cagemate. As Mia is she introduced this albino (crazy
monster) figuring that he was for me. Instead I was for him. :-)

I was not interested in having another fuzzy but I wasn't interested in
seeing him couped up in a cage alone. I first picked him up and the pet
store person said ' careful he bites '. Who wouldn't after being in a
cage? He tried - I said no - he was fine. After I put him back in the
cage - he turned around and literally gave me verbal trouble. I had never
heard a ferret be that mouthy. So I was hooked.

I gave him a week to see if anyone else might be interested - and then I
introduced him to the other two. He was named Algonkquin because it was
the name that fit - just a wacked out ferret. Always into something and
never staying still long enough to find out which way was up. Mr Tough Guy
until he was on a leash outside then he was in between your feets. And he
loved chewing the squeeky toys. Mia and Patrick have been caring for my
boys till my return in Febuary. They have done everything that could
possibly done for him. He was attacked with Lymphoma (sp?) in October. It
took him to Rainbow Bridge in his sleep last night. Now I have all faith
that ginger was waiting for him and they are romping around. All left is
that Ginger has to keep him away from all her toys up there. :-)

I'm sure Peuter will travel well with the others at the shelter - as he is
in the best hands that could be away from his mom. He's with Aunty. My
thanks to Mia and Patrick at the North Island Ferret Shelter on Vancouver
Island. My happiness in this time is knowing that he went peaceful and
Ginger will look after him. He was born March 23, 1997. And sadly missed
by his mommies.

Please give your fuzzy's a hug for me - Merry Christmas to all.
