This is a misstatement, which could cause confusion.  I believe you meant
to say that crystals in urine are NOT caused by adrenal neoplasia,
however BLOCKAGES often are, due to associated prostate problems.
 
In the quotes that you posted from Dr. Williams and Dr. Murray, both vets
are attempting to explain that, in ferrets, BLOCKAGES are more commonly
caused by swelling of the prostate due to adrenal problems, and less
commonly caused by crystals in the urine.  Crystals are often the cause
of blockages in cats, which is what you probably intended to say with
your "ferrets aren't cats..." statement.
