Hello Fellow Ferret Lovers:

In response to Sam and his concern about Xena and Baby. We recently went
through a similar experience when we adopted an abandoned kitten, Madeline.
Madeline was easily accepted by Sasha (the young male ferret) and basically
ignored by Katy (our four year old little girl ferret). When Sasha and
Madeline tackled each other when Madeline was still tiny, we watched very
closely, but only needed to interfere on occasion, when Sasha thought it
would be a great idea to grab Maddy by the back of the head and drag her off
to his hidey-hole. Well, it just didn't work, because the kitten was a
little heavier than the ferret. Now that Maddy is about a year old, they
still play, tackling each other and having a great time and neither Sasha
nor Madeline hurt each other.  In this case everything worked out just fine;
Sasha attempts to tackle our older (female) cats on occasion but they simply
jump up out of his way. We used to have three male cats living with us but
we couldn't trust them alone with the ferrets, however, these cats did not
grow up with the ferrets and have since moved out when our daughter took her
own apartment. I hope this information is useful to you Sam.

Sincerely,
Jean and the gang of furkids,
with special thoughts of Kodo.
