Tonks, one of the greatest superhero's of all time is blind. Daredevil.
During the day he is incognito ... Matt Murdock. He is a handsome young
fella and is beloved just like you are. Just as in your case, Daredevil
wasn't always blind. He lost his site later in life. He was already a
super kinda guy with acrobatic and ninja like skills. And he used them
well. But instead of retiring to his hammie, he turned his loss of
vision into a kind of superpower. When normal people and animals go
blind, the remaining senses sharpen to help compensate for their loss
of vision. I'm sure you've heard about many, many ferrets on the FML
who dealt with blindness superbly, and even those that didn't adapt as
well are completely happy and enjoy everything you do in life. Anyway,
in Daredevil's case, all his senses became so accute that he was able
to "see". He was in fact able to see better than normal people by
combining all of his new found super senses together to create a
superpower. His touch was so sensitive he didn't have to use braille
to read. He could read just by touching the ink. He used his hearing
like a sort of sonar by judging how sounds bounced off objects and by
feeling vibration. He used his wonderful imagination along with his new
found super senses to create pictures of his surroundings in his mind.
And he combined his skills as an acrobat and fighter together with his
new super senses. This made for a nearly unbeatable combination.

Daredevil goes out at night a lot because he has a definite advantage
in the dark as you can imagine. Maybe if you practice, you'll find your
extra senses. And if you practice your super hero skills at night, you
may catch him nearby in the shadows ... and feel him shooting a smile
your way.

something like Daredevil did. :D
