Could you please make up your mind?  This can hardly be a case where him
getting his way would be harmful for him, so why not keep him company when
he needs it?

Making the sun rise later seems to work here, but I don't think that's a
practical solution everywhere, and it's certainly not permanent.
 
The obvious suggestion is to keep him awake later, but what I really would
suggest is to get rid of the cage and let him sleep in your bed instead.
