Assuming that you don't have another ferret biting her, or a staple or nail
under something that she often goes, it could be a mast cell tumor.  Ask
your vet to check on that possibility.  They start out small, but can get
quite large, itch like crazy, but are easily removable by an experienced
ferret vet.  They need to make sure that they get all of it in the
underlying tissue.

If it were my ferret, I'd have the vet do a blood glucose test after a 3-4
hour fast.  It may be nothing but that type of behavior change in a 3 year
old ferret could be the beginnings of insulinoma.

Yes, they do.  Some of ours a very noisy about it too.
