Greetings all.

Normally we would not post such a letter to the FML asking for help, but
recently we have been experiencing a large number of 'turn-in's and 'lost'
ferrets in our shelter. Generally we have anywhere from 2-7 adult ferrets
seeking new homes to love and care for them, but here in the past two weeks
the tables have turned. The same is true of the other shelters here in
Phoenix that we are aware of. Right now we have 10 adorable fuzzies in the
shelter and possibly 3 more coming later this week. All of these ferrets
are under 4 years of age and all are healthy, happy and have had their
distemper vaccinations. Of the 10, there is one adorable albino male
(blind) that could use a very special home. If you live in or near Arizona
and are looking for a new companion ferret or could be a great home to a
'temporarily displaced' fuzzie, please take the time to peek at our
shelters/rescues page at: http://www.wuzzles.com/ferrets/rescues/
If you would be interested in adopting one of these wonderful little guys,
please give us a call at (602)547-0031 and we can give you more information
about them.

On another note: As I mentioned in the above paragraph, we've had quite a
few 'lost' ferrets in the past few weeks. Most of these have been found by
strangers and turned into the Humane Society. From the Humane Society they
come here for their 'beauty treatment and quarantine'. After at least a
weeks time, we post them and make them available for adoption. Of course
we make all the necessary regular phone calls to the other shelters, the
Pet Line and any of the breeders that we are aware of. Unfortunately in
many cases we are not able to locate the parents and eventually the pet is
placed in a new home. Here's my point.... PLEASE! Make sure you know
where your ferret is at all times. If they are not caged while they are
not being monitored, make sure they are somewhere where they are safe and
get can't outside. Here in Arizona the outdoors poses many dangers the
greatest of which is the incredible heat, not to mention dogs, cats and the
abundance of pools and cars. If your ferret has become lost, don't give
up! Make all the phone calls you can think of. Pet stores, vet clinics,
animal control, Humane Society, shelters, breeders and anyone that might
even remotely have come across your ferret.

Okay, enough of my soap box speech.....
