Hello all.

I love reading the FML. The people that have information and experience
often help out more that any books or vets. Our ferrets had runny poops
awhile back and thanks the friends on FML our buds are just fine.

We also plan to try the drainage tubes to make a maze. We will be moving
in about a month so we are waiting. I did go to the hardware store and
found the supplies. That is such a great idea.

I read today about the ferret who like to bag at the pantry....mine begs at
cupboards where the potatoes are kept. He has lost a lot of weight (also
thanks the friends on FML) and now thinks he is superman-ferret. He leaps
from chair to table. One night I was reading and a ferret dropped from the
sky onto my lap. I was shocked and he just looked up at me as if to say
"See what I can do?" Anyway the potatoes were out one day onto in stread
of inside the cupboard and he saw them.....he tried to jump straight up to
get them. I think the superman-ferret syndrome had gone to his head.

We couldn't find our little girl ferret last night. and finally decided to
sort through the laundry to see if she was sleeping in there....needless to
say she is lucky she didn't get stepped on.

I have also taught them all (3) to sit up pretty for snacks. I have a
picture of my cats and ferrets all sitting up pretty for snacks it is
pretty awesome.

I bought a cocktail last month and they are doing pretty well with her. I
have only caught them on the cage once and get them down. If they are
persistent they will go to their cage. They seem not to mind too much.

I also read of the shampooing ferret. who felt it necessary to supervise
the carpet cleaning process. Taz my superman-ferret thinks he can take the
vacuum as well. The others (cats included) run any where to get away....
but not taz he comes full speed ahead and teeth bared. I usually have to
put him in his cage for safety purposes....wouldn't want to loose a ferret
foot.

We really love our ferrets and hope someday with our experiences we can
help other new ferret owners. We didn't like ferrets but thanks to a
dedicated ferret-loving friend of ours all the misbeliefs disappeared and
we got our own.

Pam
