Kelly,

This is what I read in Ferret Central (internet sight I'm sure you are aware
of) :) : Put a towel or a bowl of food or water in the corners. This would
make the ferret associate the corner with bed, or food, and they won't want
to do their business there. I can't do that myself, because of the dogs. You
can try wiping the spots with bleach. A very dilute bleach probably won't
stain the carpet. Try it first in a hidden spot, if you're worried. So far
it's worked for me, but Zero has lots of hidey spots I haven't found yet!
:) Maybe ammonia would work?? I'm obviously no expert on ferrets, my
experience with them going back about 1.5 weeks, but maybe this will help.

I wonder what it is that makes ferrets love corners so much.

Just so you know.... I understand what you say about the personal aspect of
naming, and the bonding, etc. I kept the name Zero 'cause I liked it. I
had *no* idea what I'd name the little guy! It's so hard to pick a good
name. The rest of my animal family: Boo, Butch, Bailey and Bootsie; All I
knew was that I *had* to get away form the 'B' thing! If they had named my
fuzzy Bob, or Bandit, etc, I'd surely have changed it! The guy said I had
to keep his name Zero, but I didn't promise... I don't think the guy
expected me to do anything I didn't want to. :)

Anyhow, I have a question for anyone who knows. I don't know what my ferret
would be called, where color is concerned. Cinnimon, maybe? He has a white
face, and the rest of him in what I'd call a taupe color. His arms and legs
are darker in color than the rest of him. He has no black marks like Iv'e
seen on other ferrets. I've seen descriptions of the different kinds of
ferrets, but I don't understand the termomology they use. Anyone have any
idea?
