It seems to me that far too many people are willing to flame the heck out
of people, without sitting back, counting to 10, and thinking things
through.

I haven't been following this thread very closely, but my best guess is
that nobody is flaming people who take in injured animals because they have
no other place to go. That would be like flaming shelters because they
have unpaid bills with the vet. I don't know of any shelter that
*doesn't.*

The people being flamed are those people who keep buying more ferrets from
the pet store, when they can barely afford to feed themselves. The people
who get struck by ferret math, even though they've already got a few
ferrets who desperately need medical attention, but aren't getting it
because it's "too expensive."

The people being flamed are the ones who would look at the price of surgery
and decide nah ... the ferret can wait. We don't need to spay her just
now, a couple months won't hurt. That lump can be left alone, it's only
growing a little. I'm pretty darn sure nobody would flame someone for
rescuing a ferret.

If you're one of those people who got all your ferrets voluntarily and end
up putting off necessary medical attention because you can't afford it this
month, then maybe you should rethink getting that cute little kit you saw
at the pet store. If you got your ferrets because it was either that, or
they live in squalor... nobody is flaming you.

Anyways. People need to keep their danders down a little. Don't take
everything you read personally, and your stress level will go *way* down...
