Hi all,

Off-topic post. But, maybe not TOO off-topic.

Some time ago I posted about my dad who is participating in the Pan-Mass
Challenge here in Massachusetts. Riders bike from Sturbridge, Mass to
Bourne, Mass - a total of 110 miles. To participate, they must raise
$1000 in pledges. The money is donated to the Jimmy Fund at the Dana
Farber Cancer Institute.

Why am I posting it here? Well, my dad has been very supportive of my
ferret work - more so than any other family member. He has donated his
time and supplies to make items for sale for our ferret group to sell to
raise money for shelters and rescued ferrets. He has made ferret-shaped
wooden key-holders, ferret coin banks, a large stand-up pegboard for our
display purposes, and he has always been happy to help us raise money to
help ferrets.

I'm hoping that his generosity toward the ferrets might be returned now
that he needs support and pledges to make his ride for cancer. I created
a website for him at www.bruceridesforpmc.web.com. It describes the ride
and has personal information about my dad, plus it also has links to the
Pan-Mass Challenge website and the Dana Farber website for more
information about the enormous effort and the good it has done over the
years. His pledge letter is up there too, and he describes a scene from
last year's ride that has stayed with him.

If anyone feels like making even a $5 or $10 pledge toward the ride, it
will be greatly appreciated and a friend to ferrets will be that much
closer to his goal.

Thanks,

Heather W. in Massachusetts
