It has been one week ago today that the wet ferrets, now named Bailey and
Elle, came to live with me.  I had fallen in love with both of them the
moment I laid eyes on them.  It took my family, including my husband, about
2 minutes to do the same!  My male Oscar liked both from the start, he is
the sweetest ferret in the world!  Lilly was a different story.  She
insisted on being queen Bee, as someone told me.  She would drag Bailey and
Elle around the house by the neck.  After a couple of days she started
eating and sleeping with both.  So today I have a happy family that
includes four ferrets, one inside dog Bella, one outside (in fenced yard)
dog Beamer and a stray cat for the past eight years we call Witch.
 
Everything checked out at the vet Friday just fine but starting Sat. or
Sun. Bailey started to cough.  It was not getting any better by Wednesday
so I decided to take him to the vet.  Money has been tight this week, I
wanted to wait until Friday, being that is pay day, but Bailey needed to
see the vet.  I made the appointment for four yesterday and ask the vet to
hold my check until Friday.  To my surprise I checked my mail, a sweet card
with some money inside was in the mail from Margie (FosterFert).  She had
contacted me about sending money, but before she read my response about
sending money to a shelter instead, she had put this in the mail.  I want
to tell her how much I appreciated the help.  Bailey has a bronchial
infection that the vet said more than likely was caused by being left in
the rain.  He started Amoxicillian twice a day for 10 days.  If his cough
is not better by Friday the vet will see him again.  He has been sleeping a
lot but his cough does seem to be a little better.
 
Today I also received a very sweet card from Ela, Paddington and Scooter.
There was no e-mail address so I will let this be my thank you.  Where did
you get the cute ferret cards?  And Margie, where did you get the labels
with ferrets on them?
 
I again want to thank everyone that e-mailed me last week with concern,
prayers, suggestions and offers of money.  It was a long week getting the
ferrets here but it was worth every penny, every sleepless night and was
worth losing a possible friend.
 
I love my two new babies!
