To all vets and (W.) Los Angeles residents,
 
Do any of you out there know of any great ferret specialist in the W.LA
area?  Yes, I have checked the FA directory of ferret friendly vets, but
does anyone recommend a vet in particular?  I'm a little concerned about my
fuzzbutt, Silk.  During her last shedding she's gained a little white ring
around the base of her tail where it seems like some of the guard hair
hasn't grown back in.  It's been quite a few weeks since this has happened
and it doesn't seem to be balding really (though sometimes I can pull out a
couple strands of hair from there. . .  gently of course)nor does it seem
to be growing back in.  Isn't balding on the tail a possible sign of adrenal
cancer?  She's also gotten pretty skinny after this winter and her hair is
courser than before (not that I would know exactly how her hair is this time
of year b/c she's only 1 yr old) though she's still very active and is
eating pretty well, and I've never noticed her go into shock.  Hmmm.  What
do you all think?  Am I ill-informed or over-reacting?
 
I would appreciate any helpful info!
