I just bought my second ferret yesterday, a 3 month old male. He had been
owned briefly, but the son who it was bought for was arrested and is now
being observed for mental problems. I also have a five year old male. The
pet store owner told me they might fight briefly, and usually the older
ferret tries to establish dominance, nipping, biting the scruff, etc. It
was the other way around. The baby is intimidating the 5 year old. I feel
terrible for Byron. Any suggestions on how to mesh these two, or do I just
have to let time and nature run its course?

I also experienced all the frustrations of having a new baby, just like I
did with byron five years ago. You all know...no sleep for me or him, as
they run crazy at night, spilling the food out of their bowl, tipping the
litter box and making a mess, scratching the carpet...I sure didn't miss
that part of the adjustment.

But he is so cute and I can't wait until they get along and play together!
any suggestions, please email me at [log in to unmask] Thanks in advance!
