Hello Fello Ferret Lovers:

Remember last spring I was telling you how Sasha managed to escape the house
by exiting through a dryer hose which became disconnected when the dryer was
being repaired. He climbed into the dryer hose, scooted through twenty feet
of lint, etc and plopped to the snowy ground through the opening which vents
to the outside. It was luck that we spotted the little rogue outside!
Maybe it's because I keep my eye on him every five minutes when he's loose.
Today, he pulled another stunt. I was going to do some laundry in the
washing machine when I looked and could hardly believe my eyes: there's
Sasha sitting on the lip at the top of the laundry basket (which is inside
the washing machine). Before I could blink, let alone coax him to come to
me, he dropped out of sight between the laundry basket and the outer shell
of the washer:( I panicked, but thank goodness, Bruce was home! I used the
squeaker to no avail because Sasha couldn't climb back up and besides which,
he was having a great time investing this new arena. Bruce dismantled the
washer quickly and is such a way that we were able to pull the outer shell
of the machine away and Sasha climbed out to the outside world. (A few more
gray hairs for me:) I'm sure that as our diminutive, and well-behaved Katy
was standing there and watching all this, she was shaking her little ferret
head at his silly antics.

However, while this had a happy ending, this is a hazard for little ferrets
which I never would have dreamed of. A few days ago we had moved some
furniture and he was able to climb up from a chair, squiggle around to get
past a doorway and across the dryer to the washing machine. Needless to
say, the chair was promptly moved *far* away enough that he can't do that
again.

Oh those ferrets:)

How nice to see PawPaw back on the FML!
