YIKES! Donna, don't let these people take "LB" back! They turned her
over to you, right? Too bad for them. I hate that they named her that
and if that is how they feel about ferrets, why on earth would they want
her back? In order to legally get her back, they would have to prove
that they did not give her to you or that she was ever theirs. It doesn't
sound like the type of people who would go to the trouble. KEEP HER!

Lisa Z - I almost started crying when I read your post on losing Pumpkin.
Thank goodness you found the baby and I was quite relieved to read the
next post about it. Whew!

I am very happy to read that there is a hearing over USDA regulations and
the age of kits being sold in petstores. I anxiously await the results of
that because it ties in with what I am trying to accomplish as well. I
still have not received a response from APHIS about regulations and how
they regulate ferret farms (I am sending another email). All I want to
know is if ferrets are regulated under a different set of guidelines than
other animals. Go Alicia!

Last night we went to see Lord of the Rings. Yes, there was a VERY brief
shot of a ferret. Maybe about three seconds. BUMMER! It should have
been longer. Oh well...good movie, cannot wait for the next one. Some
things were exactly as I imagined when reading the book and others were
not. It was definitely a well-done, magical movie and you don't have to
have read the book to enjoy it or understand it.

We went into Petco last night to kill some time. I asked one of the
employees what happened to the Ferret Symposium flyer the store manager
hung up for me. The employee then told me that the District Manager was
in and that he only allows "certain information" to be posted on the
board. I told her that the Manager had ok'd it and that they have flyers
for other events posted on there (even dog training classes and private
breeder's ads). I told her that I would contact the Manager about it and
bring in another one if necessary. Apparently, Jim heard her turn around
and say "we are not a shelter, we are a store." I don't know what this
meant but Jim said that she was very snotty. I have no clue what being
a "shelter" or being a "petstore" has to do with hanging a flyer for a
conference. Whatever! I spend so much time helping that store, that I
think I will mention this to the Manager who is very nice. Guess not
everyone is in the holiday spirit this year..geesh. In addition, I have
a message in at Petco's corporate offices (contact details to follow,
later), to call me and discuss MF issues. I'll post those results
later on.

I hope everyone has a fabulous holiday!

Take care~
