Hi, I have a Long Coated Chihuahua and he and my3 ferrets are fine.
Infact my chihuahua runs and hides when the ferrets are out because he
is afraid of them.  He'll take on a pitbull or great dane but a ferret,
NO WAY!!  All I can say is you just have to watch them together, because
even if a dog breed is not of the hunting or such variety doesn't mean
they won't try to go after your ferret.
 
IMO I would say that the Pap/Chi mix would probably be fine but you still
have to careful just in case.  [You don't want the ferret[s] beating the
dog up now do you?  LOL :-)]
