    Actually, I said that it should pose no harm for ferrets and that a lot
of people are using it, but I am not one of them.  Our flea problem is such
that we have not had to resort to extra-label usage of this drug on the
ferrets.  We DO use it on the dogs, however.
 
    The literature does not say why it needs to be given on a full stomach.
The two most plausible reason sis that a) - it is mildly irritating to the
stomach lining, or b) the drug is fat soluble, and the presence of fatin
the stomach gives it a higher rate of absorption.
