Check out some of the newer dog books that talk about feeding a raw meat
diet at your local books store (you can just browse the appropriate
section).  I think they recommend rinsing the raw meat with a weak solution
of food grade hydrogen peroxide or some sort of grapefruit (grape seed?)
oil.
