Jeanne, I don't know whether there's time to do this, but a graph showing
number of states and jurisdictions legalizing ferret ownership since, say,
the late 1970s or whenever the current CA effort started would probably be a
good visual aid.
 
Did you ever get a hold of Tom French?  Just got some e-mail from a friend
of his saying that he's tied up with whales and raptors, but to keep trying
to reach him.  I wonder if someone else in Tom's office could answer the
questions.
