Makes sense -- after all, human leg and arm hair doesn't keep growing
forever, but if we cut it off it does grow back.

For Dave Hinz:
No, ferrets can't catch feline leukemia. Don't worry about them.

You can bring it in on your shoes or clothing. If you walk anywhere a dog
might have walked, if you hang your coat next to somebody's who has a dog...
your ferrets are in danger. Canine distemper is very contagious, and it's a
horrible way for a ferret to go -- please keep up with the annual boosters.

For Susan A. H. Benysh, who wrote about enlarged spleens and ECE: Just for
laughs, you might want to have a look at the Enlarged Spleen FAQ, one of the
seven disease-specific ferret medical FAQs. You can get a copy from the
CUNY listserver; it's called ENLARGED SPLEEN .

I'm not unbiased, but I do recommend looking over the Ferret Frequently
Asked Questions. See the top of this issue for how to get it.

Megan asked:
>Anyone know if Petroleum jelly is bad for ferrets internally?

Not at all, though it may give them loose stools. It's the main ingredient
in hairball remedies like Petromalt and Laxatone.
