I am so, so happy and relieved to report that the pathology report is back
on Bear, and he does *not* have fibrosarcoma!!! :):):)
 
The lump was panniculitis, a foreign body reaction caused, in all
probability, by his last rabies vaccination.  In other words, it was an
inflammatory nodule, but it did not go away on its own like they usually
do.  The lump was *large* by the time we found it thanks to its position --
if he wasn't in just the right position, we couldn't feel it!  But the vet
did say it was important to have it removed because it was so big and was
still there.  His vaccinations were last September!
 
Anyway, we are all dooking with glee over the news! :):)
