Thank you everyone for responding. But unfortunately Ollie's diagnosis has
changed. I had Contacted Maj. Dr. Bruce Williams and had left a message on
his answering machine. I told him everything I had told you yesterday, but
he came to a different diagnosis. He ruled out Distemper, but he has a
strong feeling it was Spinal Meningitis. So, Kathy, (my roommate) had
called Dr. Kendricks at home and told him what Dr. Williams had said, and
Dr. Kendrick also had that strongly on his mind. While all of this was
happening, I was at the vets office with my little Ollie. Nancy took me,
Thank you Nancy. She looked over his blood panel paperwork, and I had Ollie
in my arms. He was doing a TON better that yesterday, granted he was on
Valium. But his eyes had responded to light, he could hear me, he had a
little mobility (his hindquarters were a bit paralyzed) and he had a BM that
looked good. He was his feisty little self, he wanted to bite me, and he
was also very hungry. He actually began to pick up his feces and started to
eat it, so I automatically put a dish of food in his cage and some water,
and he just PIGGED OUT!! I had to refill his bowl before I left, which was
just ten minutes later. Dr. Kendricks was going up there in a couple of
hours to give him his sub-cu fluids. I was up all night worrying about
Ollie, and I couldn't eat. My friends of the FCS had much concern for Ollie
and I. They kept pushing me to stop worrying and go to bed, which I didn't!
I honestly thought he wasn't going to make it through the night. Thank you
BROOKE, LISA, BK, NANCY, SWAMP, DAVE, and others that I have forgotten.
PLEASE, if anyone has ever had experience with a fert that has had Spinal
Meningitis or know anything about it, Please E-mail me. TRISH has been
great, she is definitely his second mom, in fact my others ferts have
*adopted* her to be their new mom. Thank you everyone that responded, and
thank you Dr. Williams, I am sorry I wasn't here to receive your phone call.
I appreciate everyone for their concerns and Prayers, and so does Ollie.
