One thing that slips by all the case that I have seen with these treat
problems is how big are the pets and how many treats are the owners
giving them?

When I worked at the local animal hospital we had a little dog come in
very sick because his mommy fed him a package of Dingo treats from CVS.
He should have only had one a day for his size.

My GSD is 90+ lbs and I have been giving him Waggin Train treats for
years as much as I hate outsourcing China for treats. He only get 2
treats a day not the recommended 8 and I never let him share his treats
with the ferrets.

I think moderation is the key here like the saccharin scare years ago.
Yes it will cause you harm if you eat a complete bag twice a day, every
day.
