Welcome all ferret lovers . .
This is your intrepid reporter Annie K Mice reporting on the sporting
events that have taken place at the first ever ferret Olympics here in
the UK.
 
The morning started of in a blaze of watery sun shine, and a silvering of
frost across the grass add a little extra sharpness to the air of
excitement that surround these events.  I can tell you now that the Gold
medal for the floor routine was taken by Lizzie Dripping.  when she
completed no less that seven complete revolutions on her back with out any
help what-so ever.  The standing high jump competition was won by Miss
Pippa,who reach a height of ten inches on her second attempt at sneaking
the raisin.A gold medal was also won by, Amybaby Polecat for weight
lifting, when she raise a Pringles tube over her head in a dead lock for
two whole seconds.
 
The Last event of the morning was the Tug of war between Rollie Pollie, And
The Smokey Bandit.  Both contestants entered the outdoor arena to tumulus
applause and loud dooks from their adoring fans.  There did appear to be
just one slight problem.  This was the total absence of the rope.
 
However all was not lost, for a local slug, who just happened to be sliding
past, was quickly volunteered to act as substitute, (much to his amazement.)
 
His moment of fame was upon him and he vowed to do his best..Each
contestant quickly grabbed one each and, whilst the refs back was turned
they began to pull.
 
Rolie had the head end clasped tightly between his teeth, and Smokey had
the ASS,PEEdestria end clamped into his mouth and both local hero's began
to pull.  But , Instead of staying where he was supposed to be, the slug
decided to cheat a little.  and so began to stretch...... the more the two
valiant contestants pulled, the longer, and thinner the slug became,
 
The roar of the crowed was silenced as the tension, (Both in the air and on
the slug.) began to take effect.  Who or what, would give first... Would
Rolie Polie be first over the line, or would it be his opponent , The big
Smoke?????
 
With a scream the ref turned and noticed what was going on..  But too
late.... The slug gave in first and his head parted company from his bum
with a loud twang..Both contestants fell sharply onto their bottoms..Each
still holding onto his trophy..The contest was at this point declared a
draw, and the ref insisted on the return of both ends of the slug... and
that a minutes silence should be observed to allow her to get over the
shock.

For all those interested in how long a slug can stretch, in this case it
was about ten seconds and eight inches

I will be so very glad when the slug season ends, I know that ferrets like
high protein but,,, yuk ..
