Dief is my dream ferret. He's my second ferret, and he is sweet, loving,
cuddly. He'll crawl on my lap whenever I'm doing something, be it cleaning
boxes or work, and just curl up and sleep. He doesn't bite (play bite
don't count, and he's very gentle with people) He's 99.99... % litter
trained, I don't believe you can get more litter trained than that. Here's
the proof:

I just started grad school in september, and there was a departmental
pinic, and since family was invited, I took Dief. He was wonderful, and
some people didn't want to let him go, but that's not the point. Half way
on the walk home (~30-40 min), he was struggling, and I wanted to let him
down, but then I realized I must have dropped his leash somewhere. I knew
he had to go, but I didn't want to risk losing him, so I hang on to him,
figuring I've been pooped on before. After more struggling, I finally let
him into my backpack, he pooped there. Oh well. When I got home, I figure
I'll have to wash my backpack, so I started taking things out -- no poop!?!
In my backpack was a plastic bag of wood pellets, and he had crawled inside
and gone there! How perfect can a ferret get?

Of course, having just let the world know, I've jinxed myself and he'll
starting pooping on me. And before anybody get too jealous :), I have to
admit that Sprite and Sand makes up for the perfection of Dief. Life's far
from perfect.
