Javier, Eli, and Toto,

I'm not sure what support is in place in NYC, but here in Philadelphia we
have PhillyPAWS, and I know there are equivalent PAWS groups in Maine and
San Francisco. These groups provide vet care, pet walks, pet food, pet
placement, whatever is needed in a given situation. I'm not sure if there
is a NYC PAWS but there is a POWARS, Pet Owners with AIDS/ARC resource
services, who might be able to point you in the right direction.

I know the PAWS groups focus on keeping the pets with the owners and
helping out w/care and supplies, and boarding them if needed and stuff. I
am unfamiliar with this NYC group, but they can probably point you in the
right direction.
