Please go to the following link and email or call the governmental
authorities to ask for help for the animals left behind in Katrina's
wake. There are many still trapped in houses and we all know that
ferrets are the least likely to survive without food and water, trapped
in a cage, no way out....

I'm still having nightmares about those left behind. It fills me with
anquish knowing there may be ferrets trapped in their cages with no food
and water by now, and the officials won't let people in to rescue them
or officially help them.

What some may not know is that the authorities have told those that are
rescuing people and the reporters NOT to rescue the animals, to save room
for the humans and they wouldn't let animal rescuers in to all parts of
the area. By now most of the humans that wanted to be rescued are and
there is no reason not to help rescue the animals. I keep seeing the
faces of those left behind on the newscasts and I know there are those
we don't see, it haunts my sleep and my waking hours..

Please take a few minutes to email or call to ask for help for those that
cannot speak in our language - they do speak with their crying meows,
howling barks and with their pleading eyes - yet the authorities don't
care that the those innocent victims are starving and dying of
dehydration, not understanding why their people don't come to feed and
water them, why they were left behind....

Please, I implore you to help them....
