After several days I finally read some private e-mail from readers that
sent to me directly statements from some retail suppliers making some
damaging about their feelings about ferret feed and their whole salers
and manufacturors.

We all realise the feed is a low profit item for the stores, and an
expensive item to manufacture for those who make it. Yet we the end
users have expectations as well as rights of the retaliers. We need to
not expect the retailer educate the buyer but we do have expectations of
the retailer to provide us and our pets with feed and other items that
do not damage the pet. We have not only the expectation but we ahve the
right to have nothing less.

Profit be damned, we have the right to be supplied with items that do
not cause damage. We cannot compare the fast food outlets to this in
any forum. We are well educated on the fast food problems and know
first hand but animals don't and neither do the owners.

Bottom line is retailers have the obligation to provide adequate and
save materials for any intended use and this includes pet food. To
not do this is breech of trust.

I will remove the Ferret Store's links and icons from my web site until
their fare for ferrets change. I see no merit in the validity of
foundings made in statements by the owners of the Ferret Store.

Dr. Mike has provided an eye opener for many of us with his stand and
actions in the benefit of our ferrets. Thank you Dr. Mike and Petsmart.
