A short commentary on the posts mentioned above.
 
Insulinoma is a condition which is not uncommon in the geriatric ferret or
in ferrets which are fed a diet with sugars in it (treats).  The condition
of tumors on the pancreas causes increased insulin in the body -- low blood
sugar.  Seizures are exhibited in the late stages of the disease.  One
treatment is to surgically remove the pancreatic tumors and then manage with
p[rednisone.  Other times folks opt to use the prednisone to manage the
condition without surgery.
 
If you are in doubt, but see symptoms of wobbliness in the hind end,
seizures, frothing at the mouth I urge you to consult your ferret
knowledgeable vets and have a blood glucose test performed (Ferrets should
be fasted for four hours prior to the test).
