Hi! Just a quick question. I know ECE is spread by contact. My question
is, how long does the conarvirus (sp?) stay alive on clothing and such? I
am asking this because I will be going to a ferret club meeting where
ferrets will be present that have been exposed to ECE within the last few
months. It is a two hour drive from my home to the meeting, but I do not
want to risk bringing home the ECE to my fuzzies who are still ECE free. Is
the two hours long enough for the virus to die? Or do I need to take
precautions such as changing and showering in the basement before I go up
and see my fuzzies after I get home?

Also, one more question for the benefit of my husband. We have never let
our ferrets in the bedroom while we are sleeping because my husband is
afraid that we will roll over on them in our sleep. I do know, however,
from reading the fml that quite a few people do sleep with their ferrets and
have no problem. We have a soft side waterbed (claw proof!! :> ) I would
appreciate it if some of you would e-mail me and let me know that you sleep
with your ferrets and have never had a problem so that I can present the
e-mails to my husband. Thank you very much.

You can e-mail me at: [log in to unmask] or on the fml. Thanx!
