I guess you can never really prepare for a ferrets passing, I knew Sabina
was sick and didn't have long, but she did so much better than the vet
expected that I got my hopes up. She died of cancer Dec. 30th curled up
on her heating pad in her sleep. I guess that is the best you can hope
for, huh? I wanted so much to beat this thing. She was a 30th birthday
present, I had lost my first and only ferret six months earlier and thought
I could never go through that again, but when I got Sabina, I of course
fell in love. She was the prettiest ferret, and so smart! and such a
player, she was still trying to kill plastic bags the day before she died.
Anyway, she was six years old, and such a lady, I have taken her to movies,
nice resteraunts, on vacation, and to work, and never once did she make
a bad impression on anyone, She always knew when it was important to the
ferret cause and acted accordingly. If there is a special place for
ferrets when they pass, I hope they have watermelon! Or it won't be heaven
to Sabina. I still can't believe my baby is really gone. Sandee, treat
her with the respect due a lady, she isn't real good with other ferrets,
more of people person I guess. but she will come around with time.
