Three hundred and sixty-five
That's how many days each year
Days for a shelter Mom or Dad to scoop the poop
to fill the kibble bowl and refresh the water
to change the bedding and clean the cage
to give the meds and warm the soup
to offer a snuggle and give a kiss
to go to the vet and pay the bill
to take in the needy

Please, as we come upon the one special day for being thankful, join
us in giving thanks to the shelters, thanks for what they do everyday
