Hi Jamie;

Yesterday, you asked:

>Betty - are you talking about the outlets for a central vac system?

I am... unfortunately I am unfamiliar with them and have never had one
myself. This posting came because of a story related to me. I know of
one person who has one and measured the opening on her system. The story
originated from a person who had a "closed" system that remains off as long
as the cover remains on, but is activated the moment the cover is off. I
have heard about different variations on a theme such as the button type
you have referred to, as well as a being activated only once the hose is
connected.

I think that anyone who has one of these systems should merely check to
see what version of the product they have, and try to figure out what the
potential dangers could be and find a way to prevent an accident from
happening to one of our furry friends.
