I have a few responses and questions to ask about the last mail's postings.
 
First of all, Debbie, I am equally confused to why some food are better
than other.  Other than the obvious fact of checking the first three
ingredients and the percentage of crude protein, etc...why are Totally
Ferrets better??  We feed a mix of Iams Kitten and Eukanuba Kitten.  By
information of what I've received from various people before, it seems that
Eukanuba is better than Iams, but I hear so many more people buying Iams.
Is it because Eukanuba is a little more pricy?
 
Eukanuba: Crude Protein not less than .....36.00%
          Crude Fat not less than .........22.00%
          First three ingredients: Chicken, Chicken liver,
          Chicken By-Product Meal
 
          (This is for Eukanuba Kitten Chicken & Rice Formula)
 
Iams:     Crude Protein not less than......34.00%
          Cryde Fat not less than .........22.00%
          First three ingredients: Chicken By-Product Meal, Chicken,
          Rice Flour
 
I had to gather info for Totally Ferret from the Food Ingredients Chart at
http://www.geocities.com/Petsburgh/Farm/3398/food.html, since we don't feed
our ferts that:
 
(By the way, the Crude Fat % for Eukanuba is listed 21.00% on that website
but it's relaly 22.00%.  I have the bag right in my face as I type)

          First three ingredients: Poultry By-Product Meal, Rice
          Flour, Poultry Fat
 
So somebody tell us why Totally Ferret and Iams are more heard between
ferret owners than Eukanuba?  And if it's so much better, why is that?

And somebody said last listing about Ferretvite containing BHA and/or BHT
that cause cancer.  Where do I look for that?  I have the tube, but all I
can find possibly harmful is potassium sorbate and sorbic acid that are
preservatives.  If I'm looking at the wrong place, please correct me.  AND,
if what you're saying is TRUE, what's the percentage of ferrets getting
cancer from the consumption of Ferretvite (or other supplements containing
cancer-causing ingredients???  Is there a research done on it??  I'm very
confused.  I am at the same time, very concerned, so if anyone can verify
that, please post the FML so everybody can be informed.
